May mods who do not have you on one or the other add you?: Of course!
Triggers? (You may PM us or post to the Trigger list if you prefer): I can't think of anything precise that I feel would need to be 100% barred from game that triggers me, but I will absolutely bring it forward to post if that changes.

IC:
Character name: Emporio Alniño
Character age as of canon point (As best as is known): 12
Canon format (Anime, manga, video game, live action TV, novel, web comic, etc.): Manga/Anime (The Anime is a fully accurate adaptation; muses are considered the same between these formats. If need be, 'Manga' can be the default term.)
Name of canon: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
Canon point: Final Chapter, 'Fading to Black'
Is the canon point more than 6 months old in the US as far as you know?: Mangawise, it's 20 years old! Anime, well.
If not, as best you know it, US release date of the canon point: Animewise, it'll be released Dec 1. I will be applying intense spoiler warnings, and have an Opt In/Opt Out on my journal to accomodate this unique difficulty.

Completely optional history and personality section. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SKIP THIS!: I could never skip this, I love question format personalities too much,

Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done:
  • Stealing, General; Emporio doesn't exist according to the government. He was born in prison, and has grown up hiding within the pocket realms known as 'Ghost Rooms' within the walls. As such, he's had to steal a lot! Food! Supplies! These are all things that ultimately can't be provided to him under normal circumstances.
  • Aiding & Abetting a Criminal; ....By the strictest definition of course. Most of Stone Ocean revolves around Jolyne and her friends as they fight against the machinations of Pucci- but while Emporio often acts as a source of information and advice to them during this time, the most direct form of this can be seen in his role helping Jolyne to escape prison with her friends. Essentially, he had to identify a specific prison warden, and then successfully get the information to Jolyne herself. Whew!
  • The Death of Enrico Pucci; While a simple death would be considered 'morally justified', Pucci's death will ultimately be a source of moral conflict for Emporio all the same. Despite it being largely at the hands of a supremely self-protective Stand, Pucci's ultimate demise was still one which ended with brutality. For all that Emporio's final words to him were- 'You lost to fate! Following the path of Justice is True Fate!'- it's...still murder! And Emporio's got mixed feelings about that no matter the fact that he had no choice and little control due to his intense feelings in that moment.
Notably, only the bottom bullet represents anything he feels any conflict over. For that matter, He lacks any remorse at all for the top two bullets. Remorse is a tricky matter for the bottom; for Pucci specifically, he has none. But no one with a heart like Emporio's can go through the visions of such a death without struggle.

Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done.:
  • Assisted and Warned Jolyne; Emporio's introductory moment is warning Jolyne of Pucci's machinations, trying desperately to prevent her from meeting with her father in the visitor's room. It is notably the first time that he's truly reached out, and the reason he gives is that he relates to Jolyne- she was wrongfully framed and imprisoned through Pucci's planning, as Pucci intends to target her father (implying that Emporio's mother died for similar reasons). He ultimately continues helping her through the series from this point, gradually taking more initiative to that end, but that first step of courage is vital.
  • Offered Refuge at his own Risk; ...Alright so technically that's aiding and abetting, but with everything going on in this prison, it deserves noting. Emporio's access to the Ghost Rooms are unique. He is, in essence, the one who holds the 'key' to any such door. However, for reasons unknown, he extends access to those rooms to two men before he meets Jolyne. Weather Report, and Narisco Anasui. The latter is in prison for Murder, and apparently kept calm by Weather's presence. The former, perhaps, Emporio found kinship in- as he is a victim of Pucci's, having lost all memory of who he actually is. No matter the case- Emporio allowed Weather and by extension Anasui, shelter and refuge in his Ghost room...something that in turn could have led to his capture. Anyone who can access the ghost room, can give access to others.
  • Released the world from a Doomed Fate; technically unintentional, it was a consequence of Pucci's death. Emporio had no way of knowing this would happen, save in Pucci's final moments. In the end, it's debatable if this even counts as a morally good 'act' at all. But it would be negligent not to credit him for it after the struggle it took as well. Had Pucci not been killed, time would have looped over and over upon itself until everyone in the world not only knew the path of their lives start to finish, but as well, everyone would willfully continue on that path. Essentially, 'free will' would no longer exist. ...So good job Emporio!

Please put the six things above on a timeline relevant to each other:
  • Stealing, General
  • Offered Refuge at his own Risk
  • Assisted and Warned Jolyne
  • Aiding & Abetting a Criminal
  • The Death of Enrico Pucci...
  • ...The Freedom of the World from a Doomed Fate

Do you consider your character a hero, an anti-hero, a good aligned side kick, a bystander, a victim, a fence sitter, a mercenary, an evil aligned side kick, a villain, or something else? Why?:

So this is a very interesting character question and a large part of it factors into the tropes surrounding Emporio himself. The author of JJBA is known for veering outside of the box, but when he does something well he does it very well. Ostensibly, Emporio takes the role of the 'child protagonist', the kid in the team, the guy in the chair, etc, etc. The 'good aligned side kick'. Good and Evil is a bit messier in JJBA of course (especially in Part 6, which takes place in a prison), but that is technically where he falls.

However, examining the build up of Emporio's character design points to a long intended showdown between himself and the primary villain, Pucci.

First- Pucci is outright responsible for the death of Emporio's mother, and the reason Emporio lives inside the walls of the prison. From there, Pucci kills the man who acts as his father figure, known as 'Weather Report'- and as well, the entire primary cast. In other words, Emporio's family. As the 'last man standing', Pucci first taunts Emporio over his mother's death. And then, while forcing Emporio into a situation that will make it easier to kill the boy, remarks that Emporio is destined to grow, and eventually defeat Pucci.

Ultimately, Pucci's attempt to avert destiny by killing Emporio as a child fails- because Emporio makes use of Weather Report's Stand, arguably his 'inherited' power from his 'father'- to defeat Pucci in an all or nothing battle after tricking the man into evening the battle field to his advantage. Notably, Emporio's last name- Alniño- is actually from the climate pattern El Niño, which only further adds to the set up.

So what's the point? ...Emporio is..........Actually a hero. A dark horse hero mind, because it's something that comes as a surprise until revisiting the build up, but a hero all the same!

Do you think your character should start on the Isle or in Auradon? Why?:

Emporio ought start on the Island I feel. Despite the immediate above, the matters before it mean that his perspectives and understanding of the world would clash too strongly with Auradon for him to be comfortable. While he would no doubt do well eventually, at the moment he needs an environment that will be more sympathetic to his recent traumas and circumstances.

But there's another reason- which is simply that Auradon would be too dramatic a change in location. While he was able to see the world outside the prison for a bit of time before the final battle, it's far from the experience of living in it. Jumping from the secritive, reclusive life of someone acting as a living ghost in the walls of an american prison, to the sunny, warm setting of Auradon would...just be too much of a shock for the poor kid.

Which of those two would you prefer your character to start in?:

Ultimately, for the reasons above, I would prefer the Isle. Kiddo needs some unwinding before he can go over there.

Are you still interested in having this character in this game at this time if that preference is not met?:

I would still be interested, however I do feel it would be more difficult to work with; not only because of the above, but because I'm counting on the lack of magic to cloak the presence of Emporio's second Stand- the inherited 'Weather Report'.

Powers and Abilities:

Emporio has Two Stands- technically an impossibility under normal circumstances, but hey he earned it. He earned it.

Burning Down the House - Emporio's natural Stand, which he was born with. It's considered 'Innate'- this means it manifests as a superpower more than anything, an ability he always has active...except of course, where magic is negated. It allows him to interact with Ghost Locations and Ghost Objects- jury's unclear on actual ghosts. To keep it brief, a Ghost Location is a place that was destroyed in some way, and has then had a structure of some kind built over that place. The Ghost 'Room' as it is, maintains the appearance and function of the former location before destruction began. A further explanation can be found in the video here...and yes. These places and objects are....Sigh...MADE OF GHOST...

Weather Report - Emporio's second Stand, received when he tricked Pucci into 'installing' the disk. While it allows for control of the weather to significant degree, covering at minimum the range of a city, it can additionally be precise enough to create pocket climates, change the chemical make up of the air, and more strangely, create airtight breathing suits using available oxygen in the surroundings. Weather Report is additionally a Manifesting Humanoid Stand- this means that in addition to a natural manifestation as a large, muscular figure capable of physical combat, the Stand is in tune with Emporio's subconscious needs and desires...and to that end, is incredibly devoted to Emporio's safety as well. Naturally, in a location of negated magic, Weather Report cannot manifest.

Personally speaking, I have a few headcanons on what was going on with Weather Report and Weather Report-The-Person, but just in case anyone intends to app the latter, I'll be keeping those out of the app.

In addition to the above, Emporio is alarmingly intelligent. Aside from getting a ghost computer from the 80s to operate on the modern internet, he's in general very canny to how best to avoid detection and police/guard notice. He can also drive a car, and pilot a helicopter.

What clothing/items did your character arrive with? (See rules and FAQ for what is allowed, feel free to ask if you are unsure): Emporio's clothes and possessions are primarily Ghost objects, so most of them outright vanished! OH NO! (Good thing there was a locker nearby...) ...However, he does have one thing- it's the sacrum bone from his mother's body. It's the only thing he was able to keep of her, so as creepy as it is, he considers it extremely precious to him.

Optional- What do you have to keep in mind when playing this character?: I PROMISE HE IS NOT WAIST HEIGHT HE IS 4'7'', ARAKI REFUSES TO DRAW ANYONE UNDER 5 FEET AT NORMAL PROPORTIONS...

In any case, the main thing I have to keep in mind is that while Emporio KNOWS a lot, he hasn't DONE a lot, which is an interesting contrast. For example; he KNOWS that Halloween is a thing that is real, and happens. But actually encountering it as a thing he can do is...WELL THAT'S DIFFERENT. That'll throw him!

What mod candy, if any, does your character bring? (Aka what elements would you really like to see us play with?): I can't wait for Emporio to question the reasoning behind every 'good' and 'evil' act-

The idea of being Evil just to be Evil is just going to be so??? Fellas, your life goals....where are they...

But honestly the big ModCandy really does come down to the allure of making characters sing. I don't think this boy has had a chance to dance and have fun in his life. He only has one smile, it's too potato-quality for fun. WE NEED TO CHANGE THIS.

What else do you think the mods should know about your character or their canon?: So I'm actually going to link Emporio's wiki page here (in case y'all were wondering when I'd be doing that), so that I cann answer this question. Ultimately, the important thing to know is that while Emporio himself isn't naturally brutal- the battle with Pucci, for all that Emporio will be shaken by it, was very much a 'cornered rat' situation, down to his Stand fighting in part with open, clawing hands the way a person in desperation would- the series itself is extremely well known for its visual gore.

As such, while you read through this page, please be aware of any possible triggers relating to violence, injustice within the American prison system, and most particularly, children in distress. Naturally, due to its existence as a wiki, it does avoid explicit descriptions- so there should be no fear of that.

Any questions?: NAH I'M GOOD thank you for putting up with...so much of my nonsense oh goodness
